Southwind

The place is a little dated, but the rooms were adequate and there were plenty of activities. Our toddler rode in a wagon with towels and other beach things along the easy-to-follow path, which took about 15 minutes to walk. We had bean bag toss, a couple of playgrounds, and several pools. There were five of us, and our condo still had plenty of space. Even with a full house, there would've been room in our three-bedroom unit.

We came here to rest after a death in the family, and the staff were very attentive. My grandsons were disappointed there wasn't a TV in the third bedroom. From our unit, we watched gators sunning on the swamp banks. I only noticed the sign saying "Alligators may live here" after I spotted the first alligator from the deck. I think the warning should be larger and more prominent.

We could walk to the beach, though with kids you’ll probably want to drive. The pools, tennis and other amenities were easy to get to. The improved units look good, too. We had a few air conditioning issues, but repair people came pretty quickly. Great place to stay in Hilton Head.

The apartment was roomy and nice, though we could hear the neighbors upstairs and the air conditioning unit outside. There’s a charge to use the fitness center. We spotted an alligator and three raccoons ^^. It’s a lovely place surrounded by nature. We would’ve used the pool more if the weather hadn’t been so cold, especially coming from Orlando.
