Al, the owner with his wife Mary, was patient while I chose the right room over the phone. The staff were all very good and made us feel welcome. We loved staying here, and were so glad we picked this B&B over the cookie-cutter hotels nearby, which hadn't gotten very good reviews and had parking at a premium. There was plenty of on-site parking here, and the location worked well: across from the Halifax River, between Ormond Beach and Daytona, with an easy drive to either and only minutes from the area's attractions and museums. Our room had its own heat and AC controls, plus plenty of hot water and good pressure. Hot coffee was waiting in the hallway each morning, and breakfast was varied and tasty enough to keep us going until late in the day.

We really enjoyed the inn, and Mary and Al. The five of us were in town for a baby shower, and from the moment we got out of the car, we loved the lush gardens, lovely views, and heart-shaped pool. Mary welcomed us into a warm, eclectic entryway full of things to look at. The dining room was bright and very vintage, and breakfast was wonderful: omelets, fruit parfaits, warm muffins, and more. We enjoyed chatting with Mary and Al while we ate. Mary said to make ourselves at home, so we did, setting out snacks on the landing buffet and chilling our wine in the refrigerator. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, and the sheets soft. I know we'll go back.

We had a lovely Low Tea lunch on Wednesday at Polly’s tea room. The vanilla chai was exquisite, and the lemon blueberry scones were the best I've ever had. The cucumber and ham sandwiches were appetizing, and the egg salad croissant and salad were delectable. They even made special treats for the younger ladies in our party, which was a nice touch. I'd definitely recommend it for a change of pace at lunch.

The desserts were wonderful, and the tea was exquisite. Mary B and Ms. Ann made the visit so memorable, and I can't wait to come back and swim in the magical pool. Reservations were met with warmth and hospitality from the start. I'm a professional mermaid in Savannah, Georgia, and was thrilled they invited me to take mermaid pictures around River Lily Inn. It made the afternoon tea feel even more enchanting. Highly recommend this spot.

River Lily Inn feels like a beautiful secret, and Mary is an amazing host and owner. The outside is stunning, with the water just across the street, and inside is charming and appealing to everyone. All the little details feel purposeful and can take you away from home, even if you live only 30 minutes away. It's an experience, and you won't be disappointed. Book early for the holidays because they get busy. It's especially spectacular for personal or business get-togethers. Thank you, Mary, for the best experiences at River Lily Inn!
