Sea Vista Motel

We had a wonderful week here with our family and dog. I loved being able to see the ocean from our room, and I especially enjoyed relaxing on the back deck and breathing in the sea air. The staff were so nice and helpful. We'll definitely be back very soon!

The host was great, friendly and outgoing, and not rude at all. The rooms are what you'd expect at the beach, and we love them. The price felt just right, not too high. I'd recommend it and come back for another stay.

I first stayed at the sea vista as a baby, and now my husband and I return whenever we can. I've been coming since the late 90s, and as someone who considers herself a local, I see it as a landmark of the island. The people who work there care about the motel and the island the way I do. You get five-star views and reasonably priced rooms, though the rooms are individually owned and furnished, so I have my favorites and some are better equipped than others. It's beachfront, so expect a bit of beach in the room, like sand or salt-stained glass. I think that's part of the charm. It's a long way from most restaurants and bars, since the motel is at the south end of the island. That makes it a poor fit for late nights or drinks out, though I also think the quiet location is part of its appeal. The only thing I'd change is bringing back vending machines so we could get drinks or snacks after the office closes. I hope the place never changes.

I love visiting in the off season. A few times it was just me, my wife, and our dog on the beach. You can't beat the location. The outside looks a little sketchy, but the rooms are decent and remodeled.
