Caribbean Resort Suites

We arrived after a cruise and they managed to get us into a room before our scheduled check-in. The staff were kind and friendly, and the room, though dated, was very clean. It had a second half-bath, which was great for our family. The pool was small, warm, and quaint. The hotel is within walking distance of the beach, boardwalk, and splash pad.

We've stayed here for three years, mostly because the location is great. The rooms are clean, but they're starting to look worn, and the deck furniture needs new cushions. The pool should be looked after daily, but we didn't see anyone doing that. The thing that irritated me most happened on checkout morning. We went to breakfast, came back 40 minutes before checkout, and the cleaning lady had taken some of our things. We got them back, but really?

My children and I were harassed by a man in a tall black truck in the parking lot. He shouted obscene comments about my body and my children, and I was revolted. I was also shocked by how open the place was to the public and how little security there seemed to be. The room and shared areas were disgusting. Ants were all over the fridge, the sheets had yellow stains and smelled awful, and the floor was so dirty my feet turned black after two minutes. The pool smelled of bleach and urine, with sand at the bottom. There were piles of vomit on the rooftop, dirty silverware in the kitchen drawer, and heaps of baked-on black residue on the stove. When my two toddlers tripped on the uneven tiles by the pool and cried, staff yelled at them and fined me $500 because they wouldn't stop. They were hurt, of course they cried. I raised the problems with my room, showed them what was wrong, and staff kept insisting nothing was wrong with it. I'm disappointed this place is rated so highly on Google. Do better for my children and everyone else.

I've returned many times over the years and consider it a solid five-star choice for Hollywood Beach Motels. The location, pool, remodeled rooms, staff, and available parking are all great. There's a park, the beach, and places to eat just steps away. The two facilities have nearly the same name, so check which one you're booking. One has pool access, and I like both. Keep in mind that it's a motel, but it practically puts you on the beach. Nearby hotels within walking distance run $350-$600 per night, a big difference in cost. I've noticed most negative reviews are over two years old and seem to come from people who were breaking the establishment's policies.
