Hampton Inn & Suites Ft. Lauderdale Arpt/South Cruise Port

Deanna was great at helping me book for our party of 12. The drivers were wonderful, and transportation to and from the port was reasonably priced. When we got back from our cruise, they even arranged a fun day at Hollywood Beach. Thanks to all the friendly, helpful, delightful staff for making our vacation wonderful. I’d absolutely recommend this Hampton Inn for a group cruise.

The only real problem was parking. After four days there, I saw cars that hadn’t moved at all, and if you arrive late at night, there may be nowhere to park. Do people leave their cars there when they’re not even staying? Otherwise, it’s in a great spot, with easy highway access and plenty of shops within walking distance. The room was clean, the building well maintained, and breakfast was good.

We were deeply disappointed by what happened after check-in. We left the hotel, then came back and couldn’t get into our room because the lock had malfunctioned. The front desk tried to reach the manager but couldn’t sort it out, so we had to move to another room. We were very distressed about our belongings and had an early flight. The staff couldn’t assure us the lock would be fixed by 4 am, and we were worried we’d miss our flight. I called Hilton customer service, who couldn’t help directly but gave me a supervisor’s number. I waited on hold for over ten minutes while they spoke with the hotel, then the call disconnected and nobody called me back.

The breakfast is the same as at other Hamptons, but this location knows how to cook it, so you get a hearty meal every morning. Staff were friendly and accommodating, and there’s ample parking. I had a trailer that caused a bit of a ruckus, but they still made space and accommodated my requests. It’s a great hotel, especially for the location. It does connect to the local apartment complex, though, so there’s some traffic behind the hotel.
