Hollywood Gateway Inn

The people running the place were amazing, especially Ariana. They serve a simple breakfast and coffee in the morning, with bagels, toast, cereal, and donuts. We had a double room that was a little dated but clean and smelled nice. It had a small accessible balcony without much of a view, and the room itself was quiet. Thank you, Ariana.

The rooms and hallways are old and look gross, but the beds and showers are clean. The complimentary breakfast is good, and the service is wonderful.

The front desk clerk was nice, at least. The room was small and worn, although it was surprisingly clean, and the bed felt like concrete. The hallways smelled strongly of weed, and the location was noisy. At 2 am I could hear cars with stereos thumping. The property doesn't look like the pictures, and the grounds give a real dump-like impression. It's near the bottom of the hotels I've stayed in, and I wouldn't come back.

The hotel itself is beautiful and has great amenities, but the service needs work. I've complained to the front desk manager and she hasn't resolved anything. She acts like I'm the problem, even though I'm a guest. She needs hospitality skills and shouldn't be managing a hotel if she doesn't know how to accommodate guests or treat them well. There's also a lack of privacy. The housekeeper comes into the room when you're out.
