Mariner Motel

The one good thing is how close it is to the beach. The place looks nothing like the photos, though, and needs major maintenance. The top railing is coming apart, there are sharp cracked tiles around the pool, the filter is half off, and the chairs are cracked. Those things could cause injuries. It didn’t feel family-friendly, either. Most guests seemed to be smoking marijuana around the pool and in the rooms. I also found hair on the sheets when I arrived. With serious repairs for safety, general improvements, and management on site, I think the property could probably be nice.

The beach is just steps away, and there are plenty of restaurants to choose from. All the rooms were updated, clean, and functional, and my family loved them. We had a group of 11, and Mariner Suites worked well for us. My husband and I had stayed before, so when family came to town, we booked a couple of rooms without any hassle. They were accommodating, quick to respond, and helpful with whatever we needed.

The hotel’s layout has a 70s cruise ship feel. I’ve stayed here three times recently, and each room had that “living at the beach” vibe. They were large, clean, and felt safe. The staff are amazing and always cleaning and checking that guests are comfortable. Hot showers with great water pressure, too. You can’t beat the location.

The balcony view was nice, the beds were comfortable, and the beach is only a two-minute walk away. The place was very well lit, apart from the gate keypad. Overall, it wasn’t too bad, but a few things could be better: there’s nowhere for luggage except the floor, the pillows are lousy, and the bathroom could use a spot for a makeup bag and some towel hooks.
