Richard's Pet Friendly Motel

The customer service was awful. I called to ask about a room and bringing dogs. They told me to bring the dogs in so they could look at them and approve them, then hung up. When I called back to check whether size mattered, they said dogs could only be 25 lb. They could have told me that before asking me to drive over. A really horrible experience.

I was exhausted and frustrated after trying several other hotels, and Jennifer made it easy to find a spot for me, my boyfriend, and my dog. She was clear about the extra fees and deposit, which I was grateful for. I finally got to lie down in a cozy little room with a fridge, microwave, closet, and bathroom. Jennifer has a great personality and gave amazing customer service. Edit: I’m even more impressed now. There’s a dog park with a grill and seating area.

Our dog loved the place, and it was quiet apart from the music outside our door in the morning. We weren’t ready to be awake yet. I also wish the shower curtains were a proper size. The stay was nicer than we expected. Steve at the front desk, if I’ve got his name right, was great. He’s the British gentleman, and he’ll be missed if he moves.

The rule that you have to be 21 to check in was hard to find. When I got there, they wouldn’t let me check in, but the front desk worker promised to refund the $81.93 I had paid. They keep rejecting my refund requests even though I was told I’d get my money back. When I call, they cut me off and act like they don’t care. The customer service is terrible, and this whole experience says a lot about how they run the place.
