Dawn made breakfast a highlight for us. She kept things moving smoothly at the door and was warm with everyone. She even saved me an orange each morning, which was such a kind touch. Our stay started with a letdown at the Del Mar location. We’d booked four nights through a well-known travel site for my wife, our son, and me, but the room had one bed and a worn-out pull-out sofa. The manager was understanding and quickly arranged a move to Seaside. We’d stayed at that same property before, and the new room suited us much better: two queen beds, clean and comfortable, with a full kitchen. It’s our favorite, close to the beach, well kept, and with a pool on site. The helpful staff and the Seaside room turned the trip around. We’ll be back.

Room 503 was disgusting, and they wouldn’t refund my money. The front door didn’t close properly, with a gap of at least a quarter inch around the frame where daylight came through. It looked nothing like the photos on the hotels.com website. There was lots of mold and mildew in the shower, and the bathroom door wouldn’t shut either. It was swollen at the top, with insulation sticking out. Poorest experience I’ve had.

The room was really nice, and I liked having the option to cook. Parking cost $17 a day for four days, unfortunately.

We go to a different place every other week since we’re local beach lovers, and Seaside looked lovely. We had a great experience overall, though a couple of things weren’t to my taste. There was rust on the room ceiling, and the sheets on the bed were stained yellow. Those were the worst parts.

The king suite we booked was covered in mold, and because I have severe allergies, I couldn’t sleep there. We checked out right away. The manager was extremely rude when we raised the issue and just said, “no refunds.” We’d also paid for parking, which was a hassle, and they wouldn’t refund that either. The area felt extremely unsafe. Please don’t stay here. Book a reputable hotel. It’s not worth your life.
