Shell on the Beach 103 - RENOVATED

We come back every trip to Hollywood Beach, five times in the last year and a half alone. The rooms have all been renovated, and you’re just steps from the sand. No car or Uber needed since you can walk to bars, restaurants, shops, convenience stores, and pretty much anything else. I plan my flights around whether they have a room available.

I picked this hotel for a few days away for our anniversary and was so glad I did. The room was comfortable and clean, with cable TV and WiFi. We walked to the beach every day, and in the evening there were great restaurants and bars nearby. We didn’t need to drive or use Uber. Loved the place, and I really recommend it.

My stay was awful. The room looked very clean when I arrived, and the first night was fine. Then at around 2 am the next night, I switched on the lights and saw a baby roach crawling on the table. When I opened the curry chicken I’d left there by the bed, roaches scattered out of the food. I screamed, cried, and started packing. A roach came out of the sheets when I picked up my sweater, and another was under my shoe. These roaches were aggressive. They should be ashamed, and I know they must know how bad the problem is. I’m so upset. They ruined my stay, and I had to find another hotel in the early hours of the morning. Never again!

It’s spacious and comfortable, well cleaned and equipped. The beach is very close, and the neighborhood feels quiet and safe.
