Ramada by Wyndham Holtville

I come here often for personal business and expect to keep doing so. I'm pretty easygoing, calm, and respectful, and don't ask for much. The service was direct and to the point. Some staff had more energy than others, but that was fine. The rest seemed focused on their work.

The rooms are great, and I love the view. The staff at Ramada were friendly, professional, and wonderful. It's a lovely little hidden spot in the middle of Imperial Valley, a bit farther out than the hotels in El Centro, but worth the extra distance. We'll be back!

The staff at the front desk and in the restaurant and bar were great, but the room and reception area need attention. The front desk looked like it was under construction, and the area by the printer was messy. The room seemed overdue for repairs or renovation: there were dusty light fixtures, cracked and damaged bathroom walls, loose faucet parts in the shower, a hole in the nonslip mat, and stained sheets with what looked like a burn mark. There was no phone in the room, and the smoke alarm was missing from its spot. Smudges that looked like dead bugs were on the walls, and mosquitoes and gnats got in through a gap under the front door where the sweep was missing. The backsplash was pretty, at least. The hotel company should provide maintenance or renovation funds for this location. The service was excellent, but the condition didn't live up to the “Ramada Resort” name.

My feet turned black after just a few seconds of walking barefoot in the hotel. It was the dirtiest hotel I've ever stayed in. I gave it a second chance after my first stay, thinking the mess might have been a one-off, but it was just as dirty again. Pay a little more and book somewhere nicer.
