Our room was clean and comfortable, and the housekeeping staff were wonderful. They checked with us each day about cleaning or anything we needed. We had a large corner room, not a suite, on an upper floor, with amazing city views. The hotel is older, so some parts look dated. The elevators are small and can be slow at certain times, but that didn’t cause us a problem. We were there for three nights. The location worked well for walking to some restaurants and shops, and to other resorts and Hilton Hawaiian Village, which has lots of places to eat and shop. I was glad we weren’t staying at Hilton Hawaiian Village, since it was so crowded. The beach is walkable but at least half a mile away. We didn’t use the pool or eat at the hotel restaurant, but liked the Hiking Hawaii cafe next door. Every Waikiki hotel seems to charge resort fees, and this one didn’t give us amenities we valued. Still, we enjoyed our stay.

The actual beach is about a ten-minute walk away, so getting to the sand and surf takes a little extra effort. In return, the hotel has a calm outdoor pool area, a stylish modern lobby, and clean, comfortable rooms with private balconies and decent city views. At check-in, the staff were welcoming and gave us the famous warm chocolate chip cookies. I enjoyed the atmosphere during my recent stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Alana - Waikiki Beach.

We had a Resort Pass room for the day because of a late flight home after our cruise. The room was clean and very nice, with comfortable beds where we could nap before the red-eye. Staff at the first taxi drop-off area were kind and held our luggage until the room was ready. The check-in person was supposed to give us a courtesy key card for the pool and restrooms, but that caused some trouble. Other employees unlocked things for us. The desk staff need clearer directions for helping ResortPass customers. The Hawaii Hiker Grill attached to the property was great: fresh, delicious food, a nice owner, and fast service. Highly recommend.

I was there for work, and the rooms were very clean. The valet and the rest of the hotel staff were really nice. It’s well placed for walking to nearby beaches, the mall, and the Waikiki strip.

We had a very nice stay at DoubleTree in Waikiki. For the price, the location is great, and the room was clean with nice amenities. The staff were attentive and efficient. Our coffee maker was replaced quickly, and it was already taken care of when we got back to the room. Plus, you can get as many DoubleTree cookies as you want :)
