The oceanfront room in the Rainbow tower was spectacular, with a view that took my breath away, especially during the Friday night fireworks. We’re Diamond Members and got upgraded. From check-in through checkout, the front desk staff were amazing. The resort also has lots of shops and restaurants, several beautiful pools, and even the hair and body products in the room felt high level. It was a fantastic escape.

The staff were pleasant and helpful, and the resort stayed surprisingly quiet despite its size. We liked being close to the beach, pool, shops, and restaurants around Waikiki. We chose a Rainbow Tower room for the view, and watching the Friday fireworks from our balcony was a highlight. The room was fine, though it looked dated in places despite the recent renovations, and the bathroom doorknob was coming apart. Food options on site felt limited and the quality was average. A great location and view, with some room and dining improvements needed.

We didn’t need to leave the resort for anything, and the food and drinks were good. The ABC store on site was especially handy, with great prices for what we needed. As a Hilton Diamond member, I used points and a free stay, and we were upgraded to a high floor in the Rainbow Tower with ocean views. The staff were friendly everywhere. The only snag was that the rooms weren’t connected, even though we’d been told they would be. At least they were right next door. We had a great time and would stay again.

The room was nice enough, and the property was well cared for. Hawaii’s weather and scenery were beautiful, as expected. But I came hoping to relax and get away, and this place felt more like a huge tourist circus. There were crowds everywhere, skyscraper hotels all around, and very little of the quiet island atmosphere I wanted. The area struck me as a Disney-style resort set up to part visitors from their money. That kind of busy resort might suit some people. It wasn’t what I had in mind for Hawaii, so anyone after a quieter, more authentic island stay may want to look beyond Waikiki.

We’ve been coming here for over 15 years and wouldn’t think of staying elsewhere. The beach area is massive, and it’s about a 10-15 minute walk to central Waikiki or 10 minutes to Ala Moana shopping mall. Our Rainbow Tower room was spacious, clean, and quiet. It had been renovated since our last visit and looked amazing. Eileen Zhang, our lovely housekeeper, was always cheerful, with one of the most beautiful smiles. She kept our room pristine.
