Island Colony 2301 1 Bedroom Condo by Redawning

I felt racially targeted as an Asian woman, and this was the worst customer service experience I've had. At 1 in the morning, I was alone and just trying to use the elevator to retrieve my flip flops from a friend's room. Security wouldn't let me go up, citing security reasons. I was shaken and only wanted to get my shoes and go home, but they wouldn't let me. It felt like they were holding me captive. Never book here.

Seaside is a quiet street right by downtown Waikiki, and everything is very close. We could return to eat and easily head back to the beach. We had a perfect 10 day stay, and everyone was nice, including the people who live there. The BBQs were always clean and available, so we ate outside every day. The pool and outdoor spa were nice, although the pool was colder than the beach. We rented a car and parked along Ala wai boulevard. It was easy, just drive through once or twice and a free space would open up. There is no parking on Monday and Friday from 8:30-11:30am, so we planned hikes and trips for those days.

The room was fine and the location was nice, but there's a fee for everything: laundry, gym, room service, and very expensive parking. There are too many rules, and after losing our key we had to pay 25 for a replacement.

The property was okay, but I saw a severely diseased koi in the lobby pond being eaten alive by cleaner fish. I told the front desk and a supervisor, and they refused to isolate it or call a vendor. It's a heartbreaking animal welfare problem right out in public.
