Clean, comfortable rooms and consistently smooth, professional service made this a reliable stay. The hotel offers solid value for its price category, with a relaxed island atmosphere and practical comfort rather than an ultra-luxury experience. Its location is the main draw. Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort sits in the heart of Waikiki with direct beach access, so morning or evening trips to the shore take no transport or extra planning. Shopping, restaurants, and nightlife are all walkable, making it a convenient base for exploring Honolulu. For international travelers who value a stress-free stay, the consistent service is a plus. If beach access and a central location matter more than extreme luxury, this is a sound choice.

Our family of 4 spent 6 nights here. The beach was the center of our trip, with excellent swimming and lounging, and the location made everything easy. Dukes and Hula Grill both had good food, though they’re nearly the same, so make reservations ahead. This place is BUSY. We liked that, but anyone wanting peace and quiet may not. The rooms were clean, small, and outdated. The first room we got was tiny and had a very loud city view. We asked to move, and they handled it well. A partial ocean or ocean view is essential. Customer service from check-in to check-out was meh. People were kind, but it didn’t feel like 4-star service. If you’re here for the beach, you won’t be disappointed. If you want 4-star service and amenities, I’d look elsewhere.

The staff were excellent, cheerful, and happy to help, and the food was exceptional and fairly priced for Waikiki. The beds were comfortable, and the rooms were clean, if a bit dated. Still, for a $780 per night room, I expected more. This was a special birthday week for my husband, and I felt let down. During our one-week stay in February 2026, the hotel was extremely noisy because of what they call improvements, really very loud renovations from 8 AM to 3 PM every day. We also had no water in our room at all for several hours twice. The public should be told about this. It was disruptive for families with small children, and as seniors we couldn’t enjoy being in our room during those times. There was also a very loud rock band every night from three in the afternoon until midnight. We moved from the first floor to the 11th, but the music was still so loud it felt like it was playing in our room. That’s unacceptable. Ocean-view guests should be told that their rooms will be extremely noisy.

We’ve stayed here several times over the years, and it remains our favorite Waikiki Beach hotel and location. The whole team, from arrival through departure, is professional, personal, and courteous. Grace at the main desk, Peter at the outdoor seating and pool, Concierge Joe, and my all-time favorite bellman, “Squeeze,” all helped make this stay great. The entire staff met our expectations, and I personally haven’t found a better team. Both restaurants have great options and quality selections. The pool and seating are good, and nightly live music at Barefoot Bar beachfront is entertaining. We look forward to the full hotel remodel that’s currently underway.
