Polynesian Beach Club Hostel

I’d never stayed in a hostel before, but this was honestly amazing. Check-in and getting there were both easy, with clear instructions. I met some really cool guys in my room, and now we’re all running a marathon together in February, which is wild in the best way. The place was clean, and the energy was great. They offer lots of free things, group tours, discounts, and activities for guests. I’d absolutely stay again. Highly recommend.

I was extremely uncomfortable here. There was a guy walking around the hostel and on the stairs in his underwear, and I have no idea why. The cleaning staff came in shirtless, too. The water wasn’t hot, the beds weren’t very comfortable, and there were always dirty dishes in the sinks. The first night was okay, but after staying longer I could see why it’s so cheap. Go at your own discretion. Cheers.

Hostels are a low-cost place to stay, but also a chance to meet people from all over, and I loved that part. Everyone I met was respectful and there to enjoy Hawaii. The street had all kinds of people, homeless folks, pretentious pricks, and good people. We’re all just trying to live aloha. I was there for two nights in a 10 bunk co-ed dorm, so I knew what I was signing up for. Check-in was easy, informative, and friendly. The guy at the desk was great, from the East Coast on a mini-vacation and never left. I forgot his name. The room was clean and the bathroom clean enough for me. The common area and kitchen looked great, though I barely used them. It was nice seeing people cooking, eating, lounging, and chatting. The Bluetooth-connected lock system helped me feel secure. It’s a block and a half from Waikiki beach, with an ABC store on the corner. There’s no parking, but staff told me about that and where I could park. Finding the spot was tough at first, though I was starry-eyed on my first trip to Hawaii.

The common area is really relaxed, the rooms were clean, and the beds were comfortable. They have free beach gear, coffee and fruit in the mornings, helpful staff, and fun events. Rachel, Jasmin, Kyle, Jackson, Shelby, and the rest of the team were great. I had absolutely no complaints and will be back. Thanks, y’all 🇨🇦🙏❤️ This place deserves a higher rating. If you book the cheapest spot on Waikiki, don’t complain about little things.
