Royal Aloha Wakiki Sweet Home

What stood out most was the location: about 3-4 blocks from the beach and the city center, with all kinds of shops and places to eat. This is a tall, 16-floor apartment-style building with lots of units. Ours was clean, and the fridge, oven, and microwave all worked fine. It had two bedrooms, one with a king bed and the other with two single beds, plus a comfortable futon in the living room and a nice balcony. There were small roaches around the kitchen, and outside was quite noisy, but neither bothered me much. Water pipes in the bathroom made noises that did disturb my sleep, so it wasn’t quite perfect. Still, I’d definitely recommend it! P.S. Sorry I didn’t get more photos inside the apartment. I was too busy having a blast at the beach!

We had to move to other accommodations so we could sleep. When we returned a couple of days after leaving to collect some belongings, roaches were again scattering through the kitchen. We later heard the building was going to be fumigated because of the infestation. We rented a condo for vacation, and cockroaches scattered everywhere as soon as we walked in. The lobby and elevators were unimpressive, and the outdoor walkways felt cramped. The room windows wouldn’t close fully. They had shutter-like glass panes that could be angled up or down but didn’t seal shut, which was a problem beside a busy intersection.

It’s a low to mid-range place, so the tired building and scruffy public areas weren’t a surprise. It’s well located and worked for our family and budget. Our unit was tidy and comfortable, though we did see the odd cockroach. Not perfect, but pretty much what I expected. Definitely read the reviews before booking.

We love the location and this place so much that we rented a unit here. Royal Aloha is home for us now! ❤️😄
