Royal Grove Waikiki

The room was older but spacious and clean. I was only at the hotel for a few hours, though the overnight lobby attendant on 03/03/2026 made a huge difference. I was in a terrible situation, essentially stranded as a mainland visitor, and she promised to make sure I was safe. She then spent an hour helping me with Expedia at 1/2am so I could get a room and at least sleep a few hours somewhere safe. I wish I’d gotten her name. I hope management sees this and rewards her for outstanding service. If I owned the hotel, I’d be proud to have her on the team.

The prices were fair, especially for a hotel within walking distance of most popular areas in Waikiki. Getting around was easy, without paying premium resort rates. The property itself is a bit older, but the exceptional customer care more than made up for that and lifted our whole stay. Rayne was wonderful from check-in through the rest of our visit. She kept making sure we felt welcome, comfortable, and cared for. Her kindness, attention to detail, and commitment to guests stood out, and it’s clear she cares about the people who stay here. She’s a real asset to the hotel and deserves a well-earned raise. I also met Risa and Akin, who were both so sweet. Even our brief conversations meant a lot, and their warmth added to the good experience. Thanks to Rayne, Risa, and Akin, our stay was memorable and special. I’d happily return for that level of care.

The staff were really kind, and our room was clean, though a little small in an older building. We booked the Royal Grove through Expedia, and for what we paid, the location is hard to beat, just a couple minutes from the beach with restaurants and shops nearby. I also like that it’s locally owned. I’d stay again.

We skipped the pool because it looked like it needed cleaning, but they did give us towels to take to the beach. The Royal Grove has a friendly, helpful staff and a great location. The rooms are dated and could use some maintenance, though the price makes the stay worthwhile. It has an old-fashioned charm, and I’d come back.
