We booked 12 days and travelled 11,000 miles, but the promised cleaning never happened. Our detailed invoice clearly listed cleaning, and staff confirmed it was available on request. We kept screenshots of all the communication, and asked every day, but got no resolution. There wasn't even cleaning equipment in the flat. On the last day, they finally seemed to realize they couldn't keep making empty promises about the agreement. They offered to refund the cleaning and lack-of-service fees, even though they had sneakily charged a tip for service they never provided. There was no respect or transparency. We had to chase them for towels, there was nowhere to store luggage or clothes, and no iron. They sent one only after I'd bought one myself. No refund came, and they've ignored all communication since. I have to take this to my bank's fraud team. Thread carefully with this elusive agency. We're foreign, but deserve the same respect. Vacassa! I've travelled to Hawaii six times and had wonderful experiences before; the people and place are exemplary. Save yourself the hassle and stay at a hotel. Shame on you, Vacassa!

It's an older building, with individually owned units, and many have been renovated. The location and value are hard to beat, just 120 steps from Waikiki Beach and the Duke statue. The photo shows #33, booked through Airbnb as “Waikiki Studio *Legal* 120 steps to beach”.

The location couldn't be better, and this little condo had everything we needed and more: boogie boards, beach towels, a kitchen, a great ocean view, and a comfy setup. I was pretty nervous about the reservation at first since I'd never used air bnb, but I'd definitely stay here again if I come back to the beautiful island. You can save a ton by booking this place through Airbnb. Parking is around the corner at the Pacific Monarch and costs $30 for 24 hours. The location was handy, near the beach and within walking distance of lots of stores, restaurants, and bars. My boyfriend and I spent four nights there over Memorial Day weekend in one of the cute, cozy studios. We were on the sixth floor, with a small ocean-view balcony with chairs, a table, and a cooler. Resident manager dave was friendly and compassionate and worked hard to make sure we had a good stay. The amenities were simple but did the job: bed, TV, fridge, microwave, hot plate, toaster oven, and small sink. We didn't want anything fancy, so we were happy. The unit had towels and four rolls of toilet paper, much more than any condo I've stayed in in Hawaii. The TV was nicely placed close to and above the bed. The unit was quiet, with little traffic nearby and no constant noise in the halls. The main things I'd change: we weren't told when booking that on-site parking was $25 a day, and the kitchen could use some extra storage basics like Tupperware containers and Ziploc bags. We had the essential utensils, dishes, and cookware. Otherwise, the info and stay were great.
