Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa

The room was comfortable, with good beds, a spacious bathroom, and strong shower pressure. It had a fridge and safe, and when we asked the front desk for a microwave to heat leftovers, one arrived quickly. After checkout, they held our bags because of our late flight and let us use the lounge and showers after one last beach visit, which we really appreciated. We spent a week at Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa. The location is great, directly across from Waikiki Beach, and the hotel has two ABC Stores, two Starbucks, and a good restaurant onsite. The Marriott app showed a complimentary room upgrade before we arrived, which was a nice surprise. We met friendly people in the hot tub, had drinks at the pool bar, and used the fitness center for a quick workout. On day two we were invited to a 90-minute Marriott timeshare presentation. We went and got a free sunset cruise excursion, which we took later in the week. There’s also an Enterprise car rental onsite, so we rented a car for a day to explore the island. One thing to check before booking: construction on balconies in one tower may limit access. The website mentions it. We’d recommend the hotel. The photos we attached show our balcony views and a pool bar drink.

We booked directly through Marriott in late December for a mid-February stay, and weren't told about the construction until 2/13, just a week before arrival. The alternatives they offered were generous, but with hotel prices having gone up since we booked, we were basically left choosing one of their options or paying a lot more elsewhere. I'm Titanium, and that late notice still left me with mixed feelings. The room itself was nice and everyone on staff we met was friendly, so we did enjoy the stay. The hot breakfast add-on was $17/person per day above the continental option, which was basically fruit and pastries. That felt excessive. I just wish they'd communicated about the construction sooner and made the breakfast supplement more reasonable.

The luau was so much fun and educational. The dancers and musicians were great, and our host knew their stuff and kept things lively. Our main server was professional and very nice. A family nearby was pretty rude to her, but she handled them with grace and professionalism I don't think I could've managed. I think her name was Karen. She's mature, experienced, and so capable.

We felt welcome from the moment we arrived, and the service was top tier. Keith at the front desk helped us get checked into our multiple rooms. Buster, the Bellman, loaded our big bags onto a cart, walked us to our room, and gave us a really knowledgeable rundown of the hotel's offerings and accommodations. On our first pool day, we booked a cabana, and the pool staff found a great spot for our family. I wasn't sure how to order food and drinks, but Ryan at the Queensbreak restaurant immediately offered to serve us. He checked in regularly and was very attentive. The hotel may not be as luxurious as the Ritz Carlton or JW, but its customer service matched the luxury resorts we've visited. It's a great place to stay.
