Waikiki Beachside Hostel

The people I met here turned the vacation into an experience I won’t forget. I spent almost two weeks hanging out with six different people, in two groups of three. We drove to the North Shore, went fishing, and watched sunsets with pizza on the beach. I wouldn’t have met them if I’d stayed somewhere else, and I already can’t wait to return. The hostel itself was great too. Rooms stayed clean, the free pancakes each morning were awesome, and the outdoor lounge was a nice place to hang out. I liked being able to rent beach gear. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and made me feel safe, welcome, and relaxed. They clearly care about the people staying there.

The pancakes were delicious, and the staff were really friendly. It’s very close to the bus station, which made the location perfect. Rooms get cleaned daily, though how clean they feel can depend on who you’re staying with. Mine could’ve been a little cleaner, but it wasn’t too bad. I’d stay here again.

I felt safe here as a solo female traveler, and it’s a short walk to the beach and nearby hotels where the excursions pick up. The free breakfast was a nice touch, and the quality was very good for the price. My only complaint: the bathroom smelled strongly of urine throughout my four-night stay.

Rameilaa and Ryan deserve a special mention. You guys are the best, and I can’t wait to come back. The location is beyond what I expected, close to karaoke and bars, as well as the zoo and aquarium. Quiet hours run from 10pm-7am, which helps you get some rest before heading out in the morning. There’s a huge lobby where you can relax, charge your phone, have lunch, or meet people from all over. They have free WiFi and a WhatsApp group for organizing outings with other guests. There’s something to do in the lobby every day. You can borrow different kinds of surfboards, shades, and chairs, which saves you from renting them at the beach. They also serve pancakes for breakfast each morning. The staff are friendly, the amenities are great, and the place has a welcoming feeling that makes it feel like home. Rooms and restrooms were clean, without odd smells or anything that made me uncomfortable, and the gym was well maintained.
