Room 1907 was larger than we expected, and having a kitchen and sofa was a plus. The soundproofing kept us from hearing neighbors, but outside noises came right through the glass. We could hear cop cars and drunk people screaming, so the earplugs they provide came in handy. The AC worked really well, though it didn’t reach the bathroom. They also had beach chairs, towels, an umbrella, and lots of other beach gear we hadn’t expected. It’s right in the middle of Waikiki, with everything within walking distance, and comes with free assigned parking. The garage ramp is tight, so drive slowly. They emailed clear instructions through their portal for getting the fob and finding the parking spot. We had a great time and would consider it again if we visit Oahu. I can’t stop recommending the place.
Construction noise went on all day, with sounds that felt like an earthquake. There was daily work, including construction on the 22nd-floor balcony, and we weren’t told about it before booking. Check-in and checkout felt like a movie quest. They’d offered early check-in after payment, but when we asked, the hotel said never, early or late, because of its policy. The reception desk was often unattended. Room 2206 was sold as a renovated one-bedroom, but it was a studio and didn’t match the pictures or description. It was damaged and full of old things: broken chairs, a sagging old bed, and a sofa that creaked and cracked when you sat or lay down. There was a big old black mold spot in the corner, and the bathroom paint was peeling off the walls. The tub drain was missing from the center. The AC condensation left a puddle on the 22nd-floor patio, a safety concern. The TV screen had blind spots, and Netflix and Amazon didn’t work, leaving only free news channels. We asked multiple times, but nothing changed. The kettle for hot water was missing too; after three days of asking, we finally got one. The washers and dryers felt like a money scam. We’ll attach photos as proof.
Parking was free and convenient once we worked out the system, one of the main reasons I picked this place since most Waikiki stays seem to charge. Arrival was confusing in the pouring rain. We left the car in the street loading zone while getting the key fob from the lobby mailbox, then couldn’t find the assigned spot. The entrance at the other side of the building only led to basement and first-floor parking, so we had to drive around to the front and use the fob to reach the second floor. The check-in guide helped explain it. Our room was spacious and ready on time, and the staff made an effort to help us enjoy our stay. The AC worked well, and the private lanai was a nice spot for views, breakfast, or a drink. We even saw fireworks from there one night. The area is very walkable, near beaches, restaurants, and shops, and the pool was a nice way to spend downtime. We’d definitely stay again if we’re in Waikiki.
We had an amazing stay in the Beachcomber unit. It was bright, clean, and decorated with a cute, kitschy Hawaiian theme. After a long beach day, the rain shower felt fabulous. The team was easy to reach, and parking was free. The beach, restaurants, and shops were all walkable from this great location. We’ll definitely stay here again next time we’re on the island.
We hardly needed a car, except for visiting the other side of the island. Food stores, restaurants, and a big mall were all within walking distance, with everything we needed for the week nearby. Having a kitchen was especially useful for breakfast on the balcony, and the room and building were very clean. Free parking was appreciated. Waikiki place was a great choice in the middle of all the activity, and we plan to return for a longer stay.
