Hyatt Place Inverness

We feel safe and welcome here, and would absolutely come back. The place is spotless, and the rooms feel brand new, with lots of space and comfort. We’re staying a couple of weeks while I recover from surgery and work is being done at our house, and now we don’t want to leave. Shawn Carson at the front desk deserves a special mention. He worked his magic to extend our stay over the weekend of the Regions Traditon tournament, which I thought would be impossible. Everyone is friendly and wonderful. There are lots of good restaurants nearby, and Walmart and Target are close for necessities.

There’s plenty of room to stretch out in the very clean rooms, and getting around from the Hoover location is easy. The staff at Candlewood Suites Birmingham - Inverness were so hospitable and went out of their way to make our stay great. Highly recommend!

I’ve been staying in Birmingham on and off for several months, even though my work is south of Alabaster. A big reason I keep coming back is how all the staff here have treated me. The rooms are clean, quiet, comfortable, and reasonably priced, with plenty of restaurants close by. If you can, take the back roads. The drive is scenic and more relaxing. Several months ago I was in a bind late in the evening after the arrangements I’d made at a hotel in Alabaster went south. I thought I’d have to sleep in my car, so as a long shot I called Candlewood Birmingham Inverness. Katrina answered, listened calmly while I explained the problem, and started working on it. I could hear the keyboard clicking, then she quickly told me they had a room that matched my preferences and that she’d see me in 20 minutes. Katrina follows the book and represents IHG to the letter. She got me out of a rough situation.

The staff were friendly and polite, the only positive in a very disappointing stay. The elevators creaked, seemed to drop unexpectedly, and sometimes wouldn’t open for a long time. We felt unsafe enough to take the stairs from the top floor. Our first room smelled bad and wasn’t what we’d booked. The staff moved us without a fuss, but the replacement still wasn’t as advertised. It had the right number of beds, but one had no sheets, blanket, or pillows, and the other bedding was visibly stained. The room was dated, the bathroom door wouldn’t close, and the door to the room itself was faulty. At check-in, staff needed a master key and struggled to get it open. It wasn’t a key card problem, you had to wiggle the handle just right. Nearby guests partied loudly and ran up and down the hall all night, so we couldn’t rest. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.
