The lake was nice, though shallow, and we had a good time even without finding fish. Our five adults, two kids, and dog had plenty of space in the chalet. It’s being renovated, with new appliances, counters, flooring, and paint, though some things were still missing, including an entry rug, bath mat, and bathroom mirror. The furniture is a bit old, a hall light was missing, and a ceiling fan in one bedroom didn’t work. There’s no dishwasher, but that wasn’t a deal breaker for a fishing cabin. People were mostly nice, though we were accused of taking 4wheeler keys when we hadn’t rented anything like that. After all the rain the property was very soggy. Glad we brought lawn chairs, hand soap, and tissues.

We’ve been here two summers in a row with my parents, and this time we brought friends and had a blast. The cabins are rustic but comfy, and the private beach is just a short walk away. The water is warm and clear. We can bring our Great Dane Duke on vacation too, since he’s part of the family. We LOVE it!

I’ve been going to HL for 47 years, and this was by far the worst resort I’ve stayed at. We spent a week here a few summers ago, and the cottages are in a pretty rough neighborhood. The bathroom door was broken, and the guy running the place wasn’t exactly a people person. We cleaned for a couple of hours, leaving it much cleaner than when we arrived, but I still didn’t get my deposit back. I should’ve called, but he was so rude that I didn’t bother.

I stayed a couple of days with my dad and aunt and felt comfortable and safe the whole time. The cabin was pretty inside and very clean, with no trouble from bugs or anything else. The owner was kind and answered our questions. This place deserves more credit, and I highly recommend it for a getaway any time of year.

We brought the kids and our dog for the weekend and were really happy with our stay. The owners were friendly and great, and the cabin was immaculate, which mattered a lot to us especially during this time. We also rented a pontoon and had a fantastic ride. It was clean and easy to use. Thanks!
