The housekeeping staff were super friendly and professional. The young man at the counter was polite and clearly trying, and he even apologized. My problem was with the manager, his mother. He told me she had given him little training and put him at the desk. It took about 30 minutes to check in because he ran into issues, called her to come down, and she wouldn’t at first. When she did come, she was sharp with him, saying she’d shown him something already. He later had another issue and reluctantly said he’d have to call her again. I got to my room and found a sink that wouldn’t drain and a toilet that wouldn’t flush properly. When I called the front desk, he said he didn’t know how to move me to another room, so nothing could be done. The room was noisy as hell, and I didn’t sleep. It took all night for the sink to drain, and I had to brush my teeth in the tub. I got a bit snippy when the guy knocked because I was tired, but he stayed polite and professional. At checkout, I told the manager it was the worst hotel and mentioned the 30-minute check-in. She immediately brought up my son’s cerebral palsy and called me uncompassionate. I told her his disability had nothing to do with the lack of training he’d told me about. She raised her voice, flung her arms around, and said I should be ashamed. She also brought up his disability as an excuse when he couldn’t move me to another room in the system and didn’t want to call her for help. That had nothing to do with his disability. We all know someone with a disability, and bringing up his medical issue to make me feel bad about the manager’s lack of training and support was inappropriate. The young man seemed intelligent; he just hadn’t been trained properly, and two calls before she came to help wasn’t acceptable. Putting someone in an unsatisfactory room and refusing to move them is a problem, and she can’t know whether they have a disability either. I’m appalled that she used her son’s condition that way. The manager needs to look at herself instead of projecting onto others. I had no issue with the young man, only with the manager, and I’m ashamed of how she treated him and me.

The manager knocked after I overslept by 30 minutes past checkout, yelling that I had to leave or pay for the room. When I went to pay, she fussed at me like a child and accused me of cursing at her when she knocked. I denied it, but she wouldn’t take my payment and told me to leave the property. She even called the police to make sure I left. This happened after I’d stayed several weeks and always paid without any issues. She speaks to guests like children and has no people skills. She also belittles her son at the front desk in front of customers instead of recognizing how hard he works to complete his tasks despite being crippled. This place desperately needs new management; she doesn’t have the skills for the role.

Staying here is awesome. The problem is there’s no woman to pay money to.

The older woman with silver or gray hair still works there, and she’s very rude to customers. Before booking, my wife called and asked the front desk how much one night would cost. I heard her ask on speakerphone. The woman said $88.13, and when my wife asked about incidentals, she said, “No ma’am.” My wife then booked through a third-party app for $50.13, and we drove over. When my wife went in to check us in, the same rude woman loudly asked if she was the one who’d hung up on her. My wife said no, that she’d asked a question, got an answer, and said thank you and bye. The woman then said that because we’d booked through a third-party app, we had to pay $20 incidentals and couldn’t check in until 3 p.m. She rudely told my wife this was why they didn’t allow locals to make reservations, since it took rooms away from other guests, and that only out-of-town people could book. I don’t know if Mr Bob knows about this rude worker. She also talks badly to her disabled son in front of guests, saying he doesn’t do his work properly. Poor guy doesn’t know better. Red Carpet Inn, I wouldn’t recommend renting from here.
