Best Western Plus North Houston Inn & Suites

We appreciated being able to check in late and check out early. The rooms were spacious and clean, and parking was free. The front desk staff in particular were helpful and respectful, which had a lot to do with my high rating. Breakfast was complimentary, basic, and enough for us. The options stayed the same during our stay, so it got a little repetitive, but that wasn't a big issue for a short visit.

We got a free upgrade, and the service was excellent. Breakfast was really good, with lots of hot and cold choices. The drink selection was great too, and the espresso machine was fully working.

We stayed one night at 14753 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77090, with my two girls and my son. Everything else was great, but when I asked for another shower towel on checkout morning, they said they had none beyond the towels already in the room. They explained that other guests keep taking them. The only towel they could offer wasn't even a big one. We'd driven from San Antonio to Houston for a tournament, and had already paid for the rental car, hotel, and tournament. I could afford a towel if that was the concern. Maybe guests should be told at check-in so they can come prepared.

The room and beds were the biggest problems. We could feel every spring in the mattresses, and the humidity hit us as soon as we walked in. They seemed to be having AC trouble. I think the room I was supposed to get was switched because of an AC issue. By the second night things were better: housekeeping had turned the AC down from 70 to 63, which I'm sure helped with the humidity. I also spotted a little mold on the bathroom ceiling. The place looked and smelled clean when we checked in. Breakfast was good, with the usual options and an omelette station, and my girls loved the waffles. Of the four hotels we stayed in on our TX trip, this was easily the worst. It was also the cheapest, though not by much, so I took that into account. It wasn't bad enough to make us leave, but I wouldn't come back.
