FILTHY. The photos show hair left in the bathtub, dirty bathroom floors, and the state of the sheets when I opened them to get into bed. They hadn’t cleaned properly.
I checked out 30 minutes ago and realized I’d left earrings that are priceless to me. I politely asked the property manager to put them aside, but she went to look and within 10 seconds said they weren’t there. I’m absolutely positive they were, because I was about to pick them up when the maid started pounding on the door at 10:51 AM, demanding I check out before the actual 11AM checkout time. The room was poorly cleaned and had roaches. A group of boys approached me again after I declined to buy whatever "dope" LOL, then called and knocked on my door. I’ve seen this kind of thing before, but this place is absolutely disgusting. It’s bittersweet because I’d considered it for our reunion, with 30 plus rooms booked for 12 days. That would’ve been a disappointment. I’d stay in a tent before supporting a dump managed this poorly.
The way the office handled a visit from my coworker really embarrassed and angered me. He’d offered to bring leftover BBQ from his family reunion, and at around 1:15am, after I got back past midnight, he knocked and arrived with a paper bag of food. I invited him in, but as soon as I shut the door, the room phone rang. Someone from the office yelled that visitors weren’t allowed and wouldn’t let me explain that he was only dropping food off. They said they’d call the police if he didn’t leave within five minutes, then hung up. I was angry and embarrassed explaining what happened to my friend, who was just trying to help me. I used to count the Camelot Inn among my favorite stays about a year ago, but management seems to have lost a lot of its warmth since then. My coworker lives nearby, and our shifts were changing when I mentioned I was staying there that night. If I’m paying for the room, I should get a say when someone stops by to help. Nobody had mentioned a "No Guests Allowed" policy beforehand, and I don’t like being yelled at, threatened with police, and hung up on. I don’t think I’ll return or recommend the Camelot Inn on west little york and gessner. That incident put this place out of my business.
A very nice lady took my reservation over the phone. At check-in, the gentleman was polite even though it was late, and he came to the room quickly to fix the TV. The room was outstanding, clean, updated, and had a comfy bed. Pleasantly surprised by this small hotel and its great price. I’ll be back next time I’m in the area.
The room had several problems: the door lock wouldn’t latch, the AC wasn’t working well, and a piece was hanging off the front of the DVD player, so I wasn’t even sure it worked. The sheets had stains, and I won’t shower there or sleep in that bed. Nasty mistake. I plan to ask for a refund for my second night before checkout tomorrow so I can find a clean place to rest where my daughter won’t be stalked into leaving. I arrived at 1:30am and had to ring the bell before a very tired man appeared. He quoted $50 a night for two nights, $100 total. When I said I was the only one staying in the room but my daughter would visit, he said he’d be watching me. He did watch us unload the car, then called after we got inside to say again that nobody else could stay in the room.
