DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Houston - Greenway Plaza

The staff were friendly and the amenities were fine, but I’ll avoid this place until it gets an overhaul. The enhanced Wi-Fi never worked for me, and when I called the front desk, they didn’t know how to help. The room was comfortable enough, but cleanliness was a problem: long black hairs and hairballs were on most of the clean towels, there was a small old blood stain on the sheets, and the shampoo bottle hadn’t been refilled.

We had a lovely one-night stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Houston. As members, we appreciate consistency, and this location delivered. The 12th-floor room had a great city view, and the sunrise was beautiful. Everything felt clean and comfortable. There’s a Starbucks in the lobby, a nice extra for fans. Guest service was professional, efficient, and genuinely friendly. We can see ourselves staying here regularly.

Robin, the manager or supervisor I spoke with, made a real difference. She was pleasant, professional, attentive, and followed up. Without her help and customer-focused approach, I would have checked out early. Her support helped me make the best of the rest of my visit. I was there for my birthday, but the stay began poorly. The front desk offered very little service and didn’t explain the amenities or mention that the escalator from the parking garage was out of service. Guests sent to park there should be told. The room also fell short of what I expect from Hilton: stained flooring and light fixtures, plus dim bathroom lighting. The hotel seems due for a significant upgrade.

The valet team gave excellent service and parked my car right outside, which was convenient. The texting system barely worked, though, so I usually had to go downstairs to request it. The staff were decent, and the room itself was big, but the bathroom was cramped. Its door opened into the toilet area, making it awkward to get in and out. The property felt dated for what was advertised. I’d call it three stars at best, not four.
