Golden Motel Near Houston Medical Center

This place is filthy and a complete mess. The rooms smell like death, and people are loud and hanging around outside them. The woman there is rude and nasty, and threatened to fight me when I complained that the rooms were filthy and smelled bad. They act like the card machine isn’t working so you’ll pay cash, and then keep all your money if you’re not satisfied. I saw the woman typing positive reviews on a computer after I complained, so I think the good reviews are written by staff. If I could leave no stars, I would.

The room had an awful smell from the bathroom. I shut the door, but it seemed to be coming from the fan, which switched on automatically with the light. By then the odor had spread and I couldn’t get it out of the room, even with cologne and perfume. The place is cheap, at least. But when I left my iPhone and Android charger behind, I called and was told I could pick them up the next day. I drove across town, and they denied ever renting a room to me.

It was comfortable, safe, and nice and quiet. The owners were respectful. I love it here.

It’s $280 a week, but the motel is very dirty. The tub is taped up, and the AC vents were so filthy I had to bleach them just to breathe. The walls were dirty too. The managers are also very nosy and get way too personal, which makes it really uncomfortable.
