I was in Houston for work and came in exhausted. The huge room was new and very clean, and I slept well and felt comfortable there. Breakfast in the morning was good too. Thanks to the helpful, nice woman at reception. Great job.

The lobby and outside areas were clean, and there was coffee, hot water for tea or chocolate, and both dark and regular roast coffee. I didn't make it to breakfast, though the kitchen area looked clean. This was my first stay here, and the location was great, but two things made me uncomfortable. The room was warm when we arrived. We set the thermostat to cool at 65, but it never reached a comfortable temperature. I didn't bring it up that night because it was very late and my wife was trying to rest; I told the desk in the morning, and they said they would have moved us if I'd mentioned it then. That's fair, since they didn't know. The other issue was housekeeping knocking at 10:30 a.m. and rushing us to leave despite the Do Not Disturb sign, even though checkout was noon. I've had this happen at other hotels too, and I don't know whether reports about it ever lead to a fix. Just something to keep in mind if you stay here. Thanks for reading, and I hope this helps you decide.
On the night of January 16 into the morning of January 17, someone smashed my truck's passenger-side rear window and ransacked it. When I told the desk clerk, he said trucks had been getting broken into for work tools. I asked about cameras, and he said he hadn't seen anything on them, but he didn't review the footage. I filled out a form and was told someone would contact me. No one ever called or emailed, and I didn't get an apology. If the hotel knew this was happening often, guests should have been warned at check-in and there should have been paid security. I had to drive back to New Orleans with a broken window, and pay both the hotel bill and for a replacement window. Very disappointing.
In Room 416 at Hampton Inn & Suites Houston I-10 West Park Row, I found bed bugs and came away with painful, itchy bites on my arms, face, and legs. It was traumatic and completely unacceptable. I was there with my son and his basketball team for a tournament with an independent school district, and other people in our group were affected too. Several families and players were left worried and stressed after trusting the hotel to be clean and safe for their children. Instead of focusing on the tournament, we were dealing with bites, discomfort, ruined clothes, luggage worries, and fear of bringing bedbugs home. The experience ruined our trip and caused physical discomfort and emotional distress. No parent should have to worry about this at a hotel representing a reputable brand. I'm formally asking for a full refund and expect the issue to be taken seriously. Bedbugs are a serious health and sanitation problem, and this should never happen. Until the hotel addresses it and takes accountability, I don't recommend staying here and won't return.
After I finally got my reservation issue sorted out, I was moved to another room because the first one had mold running down the walls and bedding that smelled strongly of urine. The replacement room had AC that only worked at 65. Someone came to look at it, but basically just told me to leave it set there. The check-in was rough too, since the front desk guy wasn't kind or helpful while I tried to fix the reservation problem. I was really disappointed with my last stay at the Hamptons.
