There are dozens of restaurants within a five-minute walk, and the hotel also has a bar and restaurant upstairs if you’d rather stay in for dinner or a nightcap. I like the location, and the staff are polite. Rooms are clean, and the complimentary breakfast has a decent spread. Street parking is difficult. I always use the nearby garage and walk over.

The rooms were nice and clean. Adam and Lu at the front desk were especially welcoming and sweet, and really compassionate about our needs while we tried to figure out where to park when we arrived late at night.

The location worked well for the places we planned to visit, and the hotel was comfortable. We had a pleasant stay overall, and I’d still recommend it. Before we arrived, I called the front desk and the man I spoke with had a bit of an attitude that felt unnecessary. I think I later saw the same person in person, and heard him make a mildly rude comment about another guest. I know customer service work can be challenging, but remarks like that are better kept behind closed doors. The rest of our experience was positive.

Breakfast was delicious, but I wish the front desk had been friendlier and more hospitable. I booked because the hotel’s history and location seemed great for nearby areas. I asked for a high floor, but our keys didn’t work, so I had to come back down to the lobby. They said they’d been having issues with that room, even though they’d assigned it to us. I asked to move higher, but they gave us a lower floor with no city view. Later that night I called for toothpaste, a toothbrush, and towels. The man who answered never brought them or told us we could collect them.
