Motel 6 Houston - Downtown North

For one night, it was an okay place, and the man at the front desk was especially kind and patient. The staff were accommodating when we asked for things, which I appreciated. The mattress was comfortable, the AC worked well, the TV was there, and the shower had great water pressure. The new building was nice and mostly clean, though we found a dead cockroach in the room. At least it wasn’t alive, I guess. There was hair in the towels, which was unsettling, but we were only staying one night so I didn’t make a fuss. The bathroom had no soap, shampoo, or conditioner. They brought soap when we asked, but said there was no shampoo. The pillows were really thin and lumpy, like cotton balls stuffed in cases. They gave us extra pillows when we requested them, but the pillows themselves were still terrible. I’ve stayed somewhere better for less, though I’m grateful for the front desk man’s kindness.

We’re staying here now, and the staff have been sweet and made us feel welcome. They adore my pup, too. Mr Terry at the front desk is awesome. The only thing missing for me is a dresser, but otherwise I’ve got no complaints.

There are lots of stores near the motel, and we found the rooms comfortable with good service. The staff were nice and helpful, too. I stayed almost a week, though, and the towels were a problem: they looked okay folded up, but once opened they had lots of dark stains and long hairs. Apart from that, it was a very nice place to stay.

Room 106, 8/10/2020. The beds were comfortable, the room was roomy, and it had everything we needed. The linens were really clean, the pillows were comfortable, and the room smelled nice. You could tell nobody had smoked in there. It was also very clean and ice cold, like always. Pets stay free, which is great and makes things easier. The staff were sweet and helpful, too. I’ll definitely stay here again, even though some people might expect a pricier place like a Hampton Inn to be better.
