Motel 6 Houston, TX - Brookhollow

The check-in staff were courteous and responsive, and the maintenance guy handled appliance problems and room changes quickly, though he wasn't very courteous. Still, I won't stay at this location again and may try another chain next time I'm in Houston. I was there just overnight; if it had been longer, I would've found somewhere better. I paid regular price for a two-bed suite, but the place felt rundown and like a bargain-bin stay. I had to switch rooms three times: first the stove and microwave didn't work, then the stoves in the second room wouldn't turn off, and the third had working appliances but a stained bathtub. The rooms were basic with an odd layout. The small restroom had its sink outside next to the kitchen sink, which felt unsanitary. The bare metal bed frame slipped around and made it hard to sleep. At least I didn't see roaches. Though advertised with a kitchenette, there were no cutlery, plates, pots, or other basic kitchen items, so we had to buy essentials at a local Walmart. The area is generally considered rundown, so be aware of the surroundings and people.
