Platinum Inn

There are lots of places to eat nearby, and the hotel sits just off the highway. The room was nice, the bed comfortable, and the cleaning lady did a great job. They had fresh brewed coffee in the lobby until 9 a.m. I’ve stayed in plenty of motels and hotels, and this one’s at the top for me, especially for the price per night.

We booked at 6 in the morning after spending one night at another place that had roaches and no hot water. This was a spontaneous family weekend for the World baseball Classic with our four kids, and check-in here was easy. The staff were friendly and the coffee was good. The building looked beautiful inside and out, and everything was clean and well kept. Our rooms were just right, with really comfortable beds. It’s beside the interstate, but surprisingly quiet and felt safe. We’d book again if we come back across the state.

I was really disappointed. There was a roach, the toilets wouldn’t flush, and the lighting was so dim. The beds weren’t as warm or comfortable as you’d hope, either. When I raised the toilet problem, they handed me a plunger instead of trying to fix it. Easily the worst hotel stay I’ve had. Please don’t stay here if you want a pleasant experience.

Stella at reception was the reason I’d come back. She was helpful, very polite, and well mannered, with a lovely smile. Her hospitality made a real difference.
