Staybridge Suites Houston I-10 West-beltway 8 by IHG

I really enjoyed staying here. My room was good, the staff were very friendly, and the breakfast menu had plenty of variety. They also have a complimentary dinner Monday through Wednesday and free laundry. The fitness room could use some updating, though.

The cockroaches were the worst part. I kept killing them in my room, but more appeared; I stopped counting after six, and then saw more in the hallways. I've stayed at other Staybridges, and this was the worst so far. The place needs renovations, and the gym had no weights even though the website shows pictures of them. On several days, staff members ate breakfast and sat at tables while guests were trying to find seats.

Staff were great, rooms were great, and the location seemed like a nice area to stay. But vehicle break-ins are very high at this Staybridge, and none of the cameras were working. One early morning in 10/2025, six cars were vandalized. Residents, beware.

The hotel was fine and the front desk woman was helpful. It was nice that they welcome dogs, and the complimentary dinner and breakfast were a plus. I'd stay again, though I wasn't impressed. With some TLC this could be a five-star place. The pool area needs mowing and cleaning, and our suite had a broken lock on one bedroom door. The bedding and bathroom floor had long black hairs all over, which I assume were from a housekeeper, even though the room itself was clean. The shades were torn and tattered and wouldn't close all the way because the pull bar was broken. The shower looked dingy but was clean, and hot water was hard to come by. The room was musty and damp when we arrived, but the stale smell went away after we turned up the AC and stayed awhile.
