The Lancaster Hotel

We had a great staycation at The Lancaster Hotel. The food at Cultivated F+B was memorable, fresh, and full of flavor. The deviled eggs stood out, and everything we tried was made with care. The hotel is elegant, comfortable, and well maintained, and the service is what really sets it apart. From the moment we arrived, staff were attentive, kind, and professional, making us feel cared for. If you’re looking for a boutique hotel in Houston’s Theater District with thoughtful hospitality and good dining, The Lancaster delivers. We’ll absolutely be back.

The personal welcome made a real impression on us: chilled champagne, chocolate-covered strawberries, and a handwritten note from the General Manager. That thoughtful gesture turned our arrival into a warm, memorable moment. The Lancaster’s atmosphere and decor feel sophisticated without being stuffy, and the rooms are comfortable. Staff were consistently professional, attentive, and sincerely kind. You can tell the team takes pride in the experience they provide. We left feeling genuinely cared for and will return. Plenty of hotels call themselves luxury, but this one lives up to it. Wholeheartedly recommended.

We felt welcome throughout our first visit to Houston and the Lancaster Hotel, which was for a Christmas performance by our favorite group, Voctave. Gary and Kevin at the front desk were very helpful, and the new staff member from Rhode Island made us feel at home at breakfast. The breakfast was high quality, and the restaurant was great. Bartender David knows his stuff, too. Housekeeping and the front door staff were prompt and friendly. I didn’t catch the manager’s name, but he never stopped moving and set a great example for the team. Thanks for taking such good care of us.

The location is great, the rooms are well appointed, and the service is the thing I envy most. Staff were attentive throughout and willing to go above and beyond. At 10:30 on a Friday night, my wife wanted garlic fries that weren’t on the menu. I called the kitchen, and they said they’d give it a try. Room service reached our room on the 12th floor within ten minutes with warm, garlicky shaved pommes frites. Nicely done.
