Travelodge by Wyndham Houston Hobby Airport

I’m a Wyndham Diamond member, and I’ve never been to a Wyndham this bad. They wouldn’t return my points. The place smelled awful and was filthy. There was no smoke alarm above the bed, wires hung out of the ceiling, and the furniture and floors were stained. The bathroom door was falling apart, the towels were dirty, and there was one dirty sheet on the bed. All the doors were locked, including the lobby doors, so I had to walk over to the Howard Johnson hotel to check in and wait for someone to talk to.

Getting a room meant setting up a profile online, since I was told none were available. The night clerk wasn't very outgoing. Things have changed, I guess, but if you don't have a phone, you're out of luck.

The room was roomy and bright, and the blackout curtains and quiet made it easy to sleep longer than I planned. Check-in was quick, and the lobby felt modern and freshly cleaned. I picked this place while visiting Houston to see a friend because of the reviews, and they were right. I'd recommend it to anyone coming to the City.

I needed an affordable spot near the airport and was pleasantly surprised. The room was cool, clean, and smelled sanitized, and the front desk clerk was polite and efficient. Fast check-in and strong Wi-Fi were appreciated too. A solid value if you're passing through Houston and need somewhere reliable to rest before or after a flight.
