The room was clean, but it was missing a safety lock and light covers. The lobby also had a strong smell of cleaning chemicals. This wasn’t the worst place I’ve stayed, though I probably wouldn’t come back. We called from the airport after arriving at midnight and were told the shuttle would come in 20-25 minutes. It arrived on time. At the hotel, a sign said the clerk had stepped away and would be back soon. We waited another 15 minutes for him to return and check us in. I don’t know why nobody was there when they knew we were coming.

For this price, the airport proximity is a steal. I’ve stayed twice and would come back. The rooms are huge, the WiFi works, there’s plenty of parking, and food options are right outside. They have shuttle buses, a humble breakfast, and even accept a cash deposit. It’s Texas, so you’ll be fine with the heat not working, and they provide an electric heater. There were a couple of hassles: the TV had trouble connecting to WiFi, and both EV chargers in the lot were down. Still, for the money, I can’t think of much else to complain about.

The hotel is clean, and the rooms are spacious, though the property could use a makeover. In our experience, the shuttle service was incompetent. We booked one and waited, but it never showed. The next shuttle was full, and the driver said they had called for us. That wasn’t true: all four of us had been waiting outside since seven minutes before the scheduled pickup. I’d just take an Uber.

DO NOT STAY HERE! I was there January 9th-11th and ended up paying over $50 for another night. They advertise a 24-hour shuttle to the terminal and wake-up calls. I opted in on January 9th for a wake-up call before the 4am shuttle on January 11th, since my flight was scheduled for 6:30am. I set alarms too, but overslept after police calls and unruly guests next door kept me up. Police came after midnight, a couple of hours before my wake-up call. When I told the front desk about the police, they said they had “no clue.” I missed my flight, and the call never came. The overnight worker said he “did not receive” the list, which was at the front desk, so he hadn’t read it. Other guests also told me they had missed the shuttle and had to call Ubers at the last minute. The shuttle is hit or miss and doesn’t come at the listed times. I rebooked for the next flight, January 12th at 6am, and told staff. They threatened to call police if I didn’t leave the room or pay for another night. I asked them to accommodate me and my two children until 4am because their part of the agreement hadn’t been kept. They said they couldn’t because it wasn’t their fault. I called from the room and asked for 10-15 minutes to move money around. Within eight minutes, police were at my door. The short, black-haired day-shift man with glasses said we had discussed me leaving that morning. I reminded him we had just spoken by phone. He had disconnected the first call, so I called back and we agreed I would pay. Once the officers heard that, they left and didn’t put me out. I was willing to pay despite the filthy mattress and bed, trash tucked behind the bed, and poor service. My son’s toy fell between the cracks, and when the bed was moved, it was disgusting. The halls smelled strongly of cigarettes, and the front desk staff ignored it. I had to ask for extra sheets and pillows to make up the pull-out couch, which had no mattress protector. The “Hot Breakfast” was a lie: cereal and bagels every day. The coffee was decent, but the liquid creamer had lumps of something in it. The woman who checked me in on January 9th was respectful and nice. The overnight man and the day-shift man who relieved him were nasty. I travel often as a veteran and work in a hotel on a military base. Management would be all over us if we treated people this way. They flat out said “I forgot” and “the service isn’t always available.” Then the signs advertising it should say that too. I asked the overnight worker for management’s information, and he pointed me to a card with only the hotel information and front desk number. When I asked the man who relieved him, he said “you can google it.” After I paid for another room and told him I’d contacted Corproate and reported them to the Better Business Bureau, he said his manager was named Mark and was usually there by 10 or 11am on Monday. Then he asked, “what are your complaints about?” I said that when I tried to discuss the problems, he called the police and told me to google the information. That’s what I did.

There’s a Waffle House right next door and a Jack in the Box across the street. The hotel has a free shuttle to and from Bush airport, and the driver was courteous and friendly. The daily rate was extremely economical, so I’ll be back for sure. My one-night stay was simply awesome. The desk clerk printed a document for me, and staff were kind and accommodating. They also willingly helped me scan another document to my email.
