Maui Eco Retreat

We wanted to stay near The Road to Hana and away from touristy condos, and this was amazing. My husband and I were in the Thai Hale bamboo cottage, up on the hill overlooking the ocean at Maui Eco Retreat. We appreciated the solar power, outdoor shower, pretty cottage, and lanai. Having a kitchen meant we could make breakfast and eat while looking out at the water. William greeted us with a map and suggestions for places to go, and told us about the fresh eggs for sale, which we bought. We like composting and caring for Mother Earth. A lovely retreat we’d highly recommend.

Seeing four shooting stars during our stay was unforgettable. We loved looking up at the night sky and taking in the stars. The staff were warm, welcoming, and knew their stuff from the moment we checked in. Their waterfall and hiking suggestions made the trip even better. We had a relaxing stay at Maui Eco Airbnb, and would recommend it for a peaceful, unique Maui experience. Hope to come back soon!

For our 40th wedding anniversary, Kutira and Raphael gave us a beautiful renewal of vows ceremony, blessing us and our marriage in a way we’ll always hold close. The retreat also gave us a connection to the land, lush greenery, a waterfall with pools we could swim in, expansive night skies, and bright views of the Pacific. We’d been looking for an eco lodge in Hawaii after staying at several elsewhere, somewhere that reflected our care for sustainability, ecosystems, and the planet. We found it at Maui Eco Retreat, in a beautiful off-the-grid setting. Highly recommended for anyone after a more adventurous, natural, spiritually connected Hawaiian vacation.

I spent seven nights at Maui Eco Retreat last January in the Dolphin room. William welcomed me, explained how things worked in the room, and showed me a map with local attractions and restaurants. He was wonderful and always available with advice. He regularly brought eggs from the garden chickens and greens from the greenhouse. I cooked nearly every meal in the communal kitchen and ate in the solarium facing the garden and sunrise. Each morning I watched the sun come up over the ocean from a lounger, sitting there from darkness until daylight. The ocean sounds and views, wind in the palms, and rooster calls made the place feel magical. There was a nearby waterfall with deep private pools you could swim in. I felt calm and well the whole stay, and loved every minute.
