Americas Best Value Inn & Suites Humble

We needed a place that accepted animals, so we stayed three days after my fiancé booked it. We paid the pet fee and cleaned the room. I have video, witnesses, and photos from when we left. I’d been ready to move on, but then we learned my fiancé had been flagged. He was told it was a noise complaint; when I called, Sylvia or Sylvania said it was because our Pomeranian had pooped on the sidewalk and neighbors stepped in it. That wasn’t true. I made sure to be respectful of the property and leave it no worse than we found it. Staff got combative when my fiancé asked why he’d been flagged, so I decided people should know what could happen here. The room had mold and stains on the bed, and the water pressure was so poor we couldn’t shower normally. When we reported it, the man at the desk gave us keys and told us to look for a room we liked, while saying nobody had reported those problems before. Two rooms we checked had the same issues, and I recorded them. Housekeeping kept knocking after we said we were fine. There was constant traffic and noise, but we put up with that because you get what you pay for. There are drugs throughout the property, so I wouldn’t recommend bringing children. My fiancé isn’t from this area and didn’t know how bad the motels outside could be. I’ve stayed in hotels often for work and never had this happen or been complained about before. I won’t come back, and I’d tell others to avoid the hassle. People deserve better for the money they work hard to earn.

I live in NW Florida and flew into IAH, only to be refused a room when I got to the hotel. They claimed I had “peed on the bed on my last stay.” I’m 30 years old and don’t pee on myself. They didn’t even offer me a room. Imagine traveling all day and then being turned away. This place doesn’t respect my time or money, and I’m warning people not to stay here.

The hotel didn’t provide free breakfast during my stay, even though online sites advertise it as included. That claim wasn’t true.

It’s a good place, close to stores and restaurants. I like it.
