Beach Inn - A Huntington Beach Motel

The rooms were spacious and updated, and the couple working there were incredibly nice. The woman let us look at a few rooms and choose one, which was thoughtful, and the customer service was great. We couldn’t hear the neighbors next door or downstairs. Still, both weekend nights, loud people came in around 3am and were obnoxious until 4am. Smoke also got into our room, and smokers left cigarette butts in the flower beds. They should set aside a smoking spot way at the back. Despite those issues, we had a nice stay.

It’s an okay place to crash, and the staff are friendly, but it feels bare bones and has gone downhill since I stayed before. The bright white LEDs in the parking lot, room, and bathroom made it feel like a doctor’s office. Some towels were stained and dirty. The bedding was clean but scratchy and itchy, with low-grade sheets and a microfiber comforter. There was no water or tissues in the room, the toiletries were awful, and the toilet was broken. A few small improvements could make the stay better.

We found this place while scrambling for an affordable room during spring break on a quick trip to Cali, and it was a pleasant surprise. There are lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance, including Walmart. The room was very clean, the staff were kind, and check-in was easy. We’ll be back.

The AC didn’t work, there was graffiti on the bathroom door, and we found pincher bugs. The floor hadn’t been properly swept or mopped. I don’t recommend this room.
