Clarendon Hotel

I liked having some quiet time here. The room was okay and peaceful enough for me to think and work on my crossword puzzles.

The room was in rough shape: dusty and dirty, with no heater, no hot water, no bathroom lock, no trash bin, and just one towel for four people. We spent the night cold. The hotel also canceled my reservation at the last minute without telling me, saying the room was under maintenance. When I called, though, they offered to rent that same room at a higher rate if I booked in person. It felt completely unprofessional and like a scam. Avoid this place.

There’s no parking, and the bathrooms are shared. The rooms have worn furniture and old carpet, smell moldy, and don’t have AC. They don’t clean the rooms or ask what you need. The only time they knock is when your time is up, to tell you to check out or pay more. It feels like harassment, with no courtesy at all. This is more like a bare bones motel or cheap hostel. If you have room in your budget, stay somewhere else.

For what they charge, this place is way too expensive. The bathrooms are disgusting, and the neighbors blast music from their rooms. Management, please do something to control the noise. It’s really annoying.
