Red Roof Inn Huntington

We checked in late on 3/7/26 after seven hours on the road, and the room smelled like sweaty shoes. In about ten minutes we’d seen two roaches. The bedding had something all over it, the tub was filthy, there was no toilet paper, and there were holes in the walls. Just a nasty place. Beware.

The rooms looked nice and put together, and the beds were good. There wasn’t a fridge, though. I work nights and woke up after checkout time, so the guy who came by wasn’t too happy. I can’t really blame him for that. Still, I’d recommend the place without hesitation.

The front desk service was good, but the room wasn’t clean, and despite the no-smoking sign at the desk, it reeked of cigarette smoke. It was tiny, the bed was really hard, and the TV remote worked only when it felt like it. For what they charged, the room just wasn’t satisfactory. I paid $120, plus a “refundable” $20 hold at checkout. At its best, I think this room should cost $50 a night. This is just my opinion, but I’m convinced it’s a “by the hour” place and that drugs are probably common. The grass out front was littered with cigarette butts and all sorts of other stuff. My advice is to keep driving, fast.

The shower head barely worked, and I don’t think the wall thermostat worked either. I found a roach crossing the floor as soon as I entered, squished it, then noticed the poor cleaning and some splatter on the walls, though I couldn’t tell what it was. The sheets had stains of who knows what. After I got dressed from my shower, another roach ran across the floor. I squished that one too and was cringing by then. I’ve never reviewed a hotel before, but Google asked, so here I am. I’ll never stay at a Red Roof Inn again. This location put me off all of them.
