The pool was warm and tidy, with towels all around and a clean bathroom. The kids didn't mind that the water felt a little chilly, and breakfast kept us full with the usual choices like waffles, cereal, bread, and yogurt. The hotel itself was quiet, clean, and had a fresh smell right by the entrance that made it feel welcoming. Pavon, who I think works overnight, was especially kind and helpful. He checked us in for the first two nights of our three-night stay, answered everything we asked, and never seemed rushed or bothered. I went to renew for a third night around 10:15, about 45 minutes before checkout. The woman at the desk seemed annoyed to help. There had been another guest, then the staff waved me up to the counter. The phone was lying off the hook. She asked my room number and whether I was checking out. I said we were staying, and after looking up my member details she gave me a price. I asked if that included the member discount; she said no, entered something, and quoted another amount. I agreed, but then she said that was wrong because we had two queens, and the price went up. I already knew the right amount and asked her to confirm it. She did, but spoke so dryly, like I was making her work. She also said I had to bring down the old key before getting a new one. We'd already been there two nights without housekeeping, so I asked for service. She brushed me off with a quick yes. By 2 p.m. nobody had come, so I went back down. I waited two or three minutes and called hello toward the open staff door, but no one came. Two men in regular clothes got off the elevator and asked what I needed. One logged in and assured me housekeeping would come. When we got back around 10:45 p.m., Pavon told us the room still hadn't been serviced and apologized repeatedly. He tried to fix it right away by offering another room or clean towels. We took the towels, though we should have switched rooms, but it was late and we were tired. The trash had been left by the door for housekeeping, and the room smelled, so we had to empty it ourselves. The stay was fine apart from that, and I appreciated Pavon's warmth.
