Crossroads Hotel at Huron Event Center

The restaurant was fairly nice, but the pool area was a problem. Dirty mattresses were stacked against the walls and nearly blocked the pool entrance and exit. Staff walked by without seeming to care. The halls and stairways need cleaning and paint. Our tub had a large patched crack or hole, and even my petite daughter was afraid to step in the middle because it sank under her.

Work keeps me on the road a lot, so it's hard to find a decent hotel. I've stayed at the Crossroads several times, and the staff have always treated me well and tried their best to help when I've brought them problems. I've had a few minor issues: room keys that didn't work, slightly used towels, and Wi-Fi that wouldn't connect to the internet. I'll definitely come back.

The rooms need updating. The bed was rock hard, the pullout couch sheets were dirty, and the shower swung between cold and blazing hot with no comfortable setting. The heater kept blowing hot air, so I had to get up repeatedly to switch it on and off by hand to keep from overheating. We've stayed several times over the past year, and the coffee machine at the front desk has never worked. The guest computer has also been out of order that whole time.

We stayed one night and found blood stains on both beds, then discovered stains all over. We had to remove the mattress protectors to feel comfortable. Someone else in our group, in a different room at the same hotel, had either bug bites or some unexplained reaction. We asked for clean sheets, but they never arrived. If you're worried about bed bugs, don't stay here.
