Quality Inn

We only lasted about 30 minutes in the room, even though we'd paid for a few hours. A roach was crawling on the nightstand. I killed it and called the office, and the man came down and took the dead bug away. He offered another room, but we wanted our money back, and he refused. He also wouldn't let us or our boss, since this was a business trip, speak to the manager. He was rude to all of us. If one room has roaches, it seems likely the others do too. Then the men staying down from us came to our door and asked if we had any “yellow.” I didn't know what they meant until they called it “ice,” another word for meth. We left and slept in our truck at the truck stop across the street. Roaches, an overpriced room, and a neighboring guest asking about drugs.

We were running way behind after travel delays, and by late night it made sense to stop and rest before finishing the trip in the morning. Reservations were hard to find, and we ended up at this Quality Inn. The accommodations are modest, but the room was spotless and comfortable, and we slept really well. The woman who helped us, who I believe is the owner-manager, was caring, helpful, and efficient. She treated us and the other guests arriving around the same time like long-lost relatives. Thank you!

We stayed for two nights with two adults and two toddlers, and the rooms worked well for kids. Our three family rooms were much the same: no trash or bugs, clean linens, comfortable beds, and some updated areas around the sinks. The fridge and TV worked, and each room had a hair dryer, plenty of towels in different sizes, hangers, and toilet paper. My kids slept through the night. The pool was nice and maintained, with rules and hours posted. There were some problems: one room's sink stopper was broken so it wouldn't drain, and the ice machine was out of order. I wasn't keen on the tubs and sprayers. They looked dirty, and I felt they could have been cleaned better or redone. The doors could have been cleaned too, since they had dirty marks or hair on them. Aside from those issues, the rooms were decent.

The refund rules here are very strict. I misclicked the booking date on Priceline at 1am in the parking lot, after midnight, and couldn't get a straightforward refund from the cashier in person. They couldn't change the booking details either, and I couldn't get a refund by phone. I'm waiting to hear whether Priceline will approve my refund request, since the one I submitted didn't go through. If it gets refunded, I'll change my rating. Priceline is part of this too, so it's not all on the hotel, but the hotel's cancellation policy and the third-party site need to be thought through better.
