Coral Springs Getaway - Outdoor and Indoor Heated Pool - Close to Zion National Park

The keypad stopped working at 10:00 a.m., so after that we couldn’t get back into the unit, even while packing or loading the car. We’d also contacted the resort through the method it provided and never heard back. We know the unit wasn’t rented the night after we left because the resort offered us a discounted rate to stay longer, but we couldn’t extend our visit. Still, when we asked to check out later than the usual time, before noon, they wanted another $50. That felt unreasonable in the circumstances. At this price, I expected much better communication and more flexibility. Those problems overshadowed what could have been a pleasant stay.

The condo had a huge patio with privacy doors on both sides, a large kitchen, a dining table, and four counter stools. There was a grill, plus fireplaces inside and out. One bedroom had two sets of double queen-size beds, and the master had a king. The mountain view seemed typical for most condos. Each condo group has a garage with two spaces per unit; extra cars have to use the outside public parking, which has surveillance cameras. There’s no elevator, though, so a third-floor unit means carrying everything up three flights, plus another flight from the garage. I’m not sure every group of units is set up that way, but I’d suggest a ground-floor unit for anyone with mobility issues or older guests. There’s a lot on site: indoor and outdoor pools and whirlpools, a fitness area, pickleball and tennis, and basketball. A gas station and Mexican restaurant are a short walk away. The only cooking issue for us was that the knives were dull, and there weren’t any large ones. I’d learned my lesson before, so I brought my own sharpener. We also noticed the toaster was broken on the first morning, but they replaced it by midday. They were quick to respond. This was probably the nicest Airbnb I’ve stayed in, and even in the off-season the price was good, which was the point of our trip. A heads-up for anyone unfamiliar with the elevation: our coffee maker took 45 minutes to brew a pot. We googled it and learned Utah has very hard water, so the buildup may slow a coffee maker down. Run white vinegar through it. The hard water is something to keep in mind when bathing and washing your hair, too. Cooking can take longer as well. A Stouffer’s lasagna that usually takes around 45 minutes on the East Coast took 80 minutes here at a higher temperature. Google it if you need help figuring out cooking times.

We booked this place specifically for the “rooftop jacuzzi” for our boys after a sports tournament, but there wasn’t one. The place was filthy. The master bathroom floor still had urine around it and smelled horrendous, and a sewage odor woke us up at night. I wouldn’t let the boys sit on the couch because it was so gross, and it was broken down on one side. The beds had no bed skirts, leaving dirty box springs exposed, and the fancy pillows looked like they’d never been cleaned. We were in cliff side, unit 9A. After I showed them photos of the dirt and missing hot tub, they gave us a 10% discount, though it wasn’t 10% of the stay, so I’m not sure how they calculated it. The boys did enjoy the basketball court and outdoor pool, but for resort prices we were very disappointed. We won’t return. If you care about things being clean and tidy, I wouldn’t recommend it.

After four years without a trip, this first visit felt totally worth it. The property and views are beautiful, and our unit was lovely. Two couples came with a new baby and older dogs, and they all had fun. The pool area is gorgeous, with a huge entertainment room nearby. We had our own patio and a nice grill. There’s also a washer and dryer with pods provided, plus nice soaps, shampoo, and conditioner in case you forget yours. You’ll love this place!
