I was only here for one night with my dog. I usually use Red Roof with him, but the ones around here looked pretty sketchy, so I paid the pet fee to stay somewhere nicer. It’s $75, which seems steep, though I appreciate having the option. The staff I met were friendly and helpful, and they fixed an issue with my confirmation email as soon as I arrived. The room was dated and plain, but clean. The bed was comfortable enough even with my bad back, though its frame made a lot of noise. The bathroom was roomy, with full-size mounted bottles of Zero shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion. The body wash and lotion smelled nice. I’m 5'4 and had trouble reaching the very tall shower head to change the water pattern. The fan didn’t work, so the mirror fogged up after a quick three-minute scrub, but that wasn’t a big deal. The tub looked dirty at first, then I realized the paint was chipped. The shower itself was actually very clean, and the towels were clean and had no odd smell. The fridge and microwave in room 110 both worked well. The AC blasted, but had a funky smell. Noise was my main complaint. I heard people and traffic all night, much more than the usual hotel sounds. Even with earplugs I could make out full sentences. People were loud from 6:15 AM, and a small dog nearby kept howling without anyone seeming to stop it. Breakfast included eggs, potatoes, biscuits and gravy, sausage, muffins, toast, waffles with toppings, and juice. The coffee stand is open 24/7, which I appreciated, and the dark roast was decent. There’s a restaurant next door serving burgers, fries, nachos, and wings, plus a McDonald's and gas station close by, so you don’t have to go far for something.

We stopped at the Fireside Grill for a bite while driving, and the food was delicious. The waitress suggested the Hampton next door when we asked for a hotel. We hadn’t booked ahead, and the construction sign should probably have been my first clue. The clerk seemed a bit annoyed, but said there were a few rooms, so I chose a king. I thought she quoted $211, and when I asked about a AAA discount, she said that was the best rate. I booked, gave my Hilton Honors details, and paid without really checking the amount. The email from Hilton Honors showed a bill of $298. The room was decent but very dated, and it certainly wasn’t worth $300. I’ll pre-book next time, but still, $300!

The bed was soft, and the hall and room smelled like new carpet, maybe. I didn’t notice smoke or food odors like at some hotels. They’re renovating the first floor, so it’s a bit messy there. I’d stay again.

We’ve stayed here several times since March 2025, after moving down from up north when I was six months pregnant. My husband John Ocheltree and I are glad to call it our home away from home, and now that our son is older, he enjoys how friendly the staff are too. Day manager JOSHUA CROSS knows our family by name, as does JACKIE at the front desk. The head night manager knows us well too, and the day housekeepers are quick and efficient. It’s refreshing to see updates happening, following the lead of other older Hiltons. The night crew could still use a little more training, but patience matters. Please give these HEROES a raise! Thank you for being a light in our lives. Love always, mom and dad, Baby, Penny and Taz 🐾

We didn’t get the usual Hampton Inn welcome from the front desk. Maybe the staff were exhausted or underpaid, but they seemed extremely tired. Even the TV monitor, which normally welcomes us however late our reservation is, didn’t greet us in the usual way. The breakfast was great, and water pressure was alright. The box springs were noisy and shifted each time, and outside sounds carried into the room. I also saw non-handicapped vehicles parked in ADA spaces without placards or license plates showing they were handicapped. I was very tempted to post photos of those SUVs, since their “convenience” seemed to come before disabled people.
