Wingate By Wyndham Hurricane Near Zion National Park

The staff were amazing, so accommodating and always smiling. Everything was clean and well maintained, and it was easy to grab a quick breakfast before heading out. There are lots of food options around, too. We used the peaceful, clean pool and hot tub every day. We stayed here for Zion, about a 30-35 minute drive to the park each morning at 7am. I’d stay here again anytime!

The staff were friendly, attentive, and helpful the whole time, and parking was easy, with plenty of spaces. The hotel is fairly new, and it shows in the clean, modern, well-maintained feel. The rooms were comfortable, too. There are a few things to improve. Breakfast was very basic and could use healthier choices. The pool area needed more seating, since there weren’t enough chairs at busy times. Also, our room was prepared for three, though four of us checked in, so we didn’t have enough towels when we arrived.

The room was amazing, like five stars, and it was clean and quiet. The front desk lady on Apr 13 was very friendly! Breakfast wasn’t that great, though. The coffee tasted weird, like it had absorbed cleaning detergent, and there were no eggs or wheat bread.

The hotel itself was nice, but check-in turned into a very unpleasant experience. We had four rooms booked under my name, and I asked whether the security deposits could go on each guest’s credit card instead of all being charged to mine. That’s a common, normal practice at many hotels. Maybe the employee misunderstood, but he immediately became aggressive and unfriendly. I tried to explain calmly, but he made no effort to understand and kept escalating things, creating a hostile atmosphere. At one point he threw the prepared key cards onto the floor and shouted that “this is his hotel and his rules,” and that he would refuse to check us in if we didn’t like it. It was especially stressful because the hotel payment had already been charged to my card several days earlier. I asked him to cancel the reservation in the system and refund us. In the end, he did check us in, but the person claiming to be the manager acted in a highly aggressive, nervous, and completely unprofessional way. Someone like that shouldn’t be working at the front desk. If he really is the manager, that makes it even worse. I’d strongly recommend avoiding this hotel until they change the management. He was throwing the cards and raising his voice at me instead of calmly and professionally explaining the procedures. Please don’t manipulate the facts. I kindly ask you to reflect on your staff’s behavior so similar situations are handled more professionally in the future.
