I’ve stayed here many times and plan to keep booking. It’s a decent hotel, with clean, up-to-date rooms that have luggage space, a small closet, dresser, mini fridge, and microwave. Some fridges are so cold that everything freezes, and hot water is great in some rooms but only lukewarm in others. The front desk service is amazing, especially the young woman who’s usually there. Breakfast is good, though I’ve had better at other Fairfields. There are usually muffins, bagels, eggs, bacon, waffles, and oatmeal. Yogurt is available some days but not others, and the fruit selection varies too, with apples, oranges, and bananas sometimes missing. The location is very convenient, especially off season, when you can get to pretty much anywhere on the Cape in 30 minutes or less. There’s also a mall right next door with restaurants you can walk to.

The power problems made an already bad stay worse. During a winter storm, we lost electricity and internet, and there was no hot water. The hotel seemed unprepared. None of the emergency lights or safety systems worked, and the hallways were completely dark. That’s a safety issue, since the lights are supposed to have battery backup. The billing has been a huge frustration too. I prepaid through Booking.com, but at check-in the desk said the card on file had declined and charged my personal card, even though the original payment had already gone through. I was charged twice for the same room. I still haven’t gotten a clear response or resolution, and fixing a duplicate charge shouldn’t be this difficult. A blizzard was on its way when I checked in. I travel often for work in the U.S. and internationally and have stayed in hundreds of hotels. I’ve never had a billing issue like this, and after years of business travel I felt completely misled by the hotel’s billing practices. If you book here, check your card statements carefully for a duplicate charge. I can’t recommend this property or any Marriott brand affiliates after this experience.

At $200 a night, with the extra fees adding up so badly, I expected a lot better. Breakfast was a total fail: the powdered eggs tasted more like fake mashed potatoes and I couldn’t eat them. You could tell some accountant had decided this was a good way to save money. The hotel is dated but clean, and the staff were very friendly. The pool, though, was gross, with cloudy water and brown spots on the floor.

The room itself was suitable, but I was disappointed by breakfast. There was no oatmeal left, and the mini fridge was empty, with no yogurt or milk. On my second day, neither key worked, so I had to get them redone. Netflix wasn’t working on the TV either; they said they were changing Uber systems.

It’s clean and comfortable, in a good location, and the rate is reasonable. But charging $10 for parking seems counterintuitive when there are so many other hotel options in the area.
